Hi!

I am an Instructional and Learning Experience designer with just over 12 years of experience in higher education, holding an MA in Education with a focus on digital transformation in higher education.

My expertise spans developing training strategies, online learning platforms, curriculum, digital media and web development (Frontend). My background includes roles in e-course development and leading instructional design initiatives, supported by a solid foundation in economics and management.

My work is driven by a passion for leveraging data-driven insights to enhance educational outcomes, continually seeking professional development in project management and digital transformation.

My Experience

• 2023 - Present

  AidData, Global Research Institute at College of William & Mary

  Training and Instructional Design Manager

  My responsibilities include the development of a training and instructional design strategy and framework, coordination of curriculum development and delivery mechanisms, design and development of an online learning platform, and managing stakeholder and partner engagement on training initiatives.

• 2023

  Code for Africa

  E-Course Developer (contract)

  Within this role, I was responsible for designing and developing online courseware. I also participated in the development of a relaunch strategy for the online learning platform, and introduced monitoring, evaluation, and learning process instruments.

• 2021 - 2023

  University of KwaZulu Natal

  Lead Instructional Designer

  Within six months of arrival, I was promoted to Lead Instructional Designer, developed the institution's first instructional design strategy for 2021-2024, coordinated the work of the instructional design team across four colleges, and supported the institution's digital transformation goals.

• 2016 - 2021

  University of Zululand

  Academic Coordinator

  I designed and developed a module pedagogic framework, curriculum, and online platform, coordinated module assessment and feedback processes, and supervised the work of 40 postgraduate student assistants.

  I designed, developed, and facilitated skills program course material and reported to clients on training program activities and progress.
